Self-Regulation Through Movement & Expressive Arts
Our bodies are designed to respond to stress. However, when stress becomes chronic, the nervous system can remain in a constant state of fight, flight, freeze, or shutdown, making it difficult to feel calm, focused, or emotionally balanced.
Research in neuroscience and body-based therapies shows that movement, breathwork, mindfulness, and creative expression can help regulate the nervous system by improving body awareness (interoception), reducing stress hormones, and activating the parasympathetic nervous system—the body’s natural “rest and restore” response. Rather than simply talking about emotions, these approaches allow the body to safely process and release what it has been holding.
My sessions combine Dance Movement Therapy-inspired practices, expressive arts, breathwork, grounding, mindfulness, reflective conversations, and body awareness to create an embodied healing experience. Every session is tailored to help you reconnect with yourself, regulate your emotions, and build resilience in a safe, compassionate space.

You don’t need to be a dancer or an artist. You simply need a willingness to move, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.
Healing begins when the body feels safe—and movement is one of the most natural ways to create that sense of safety. -Pooja Biyani
